Job Description
Overview
Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to design and validate medical devices including line extensions, product improvements, and technology transfers. Seeking an individual who can work independently on complex tasks including product prototyping, testing, data analysis, report writing, and project management.
Responsibilities
- Successfully execute complex engineering tasks related to product and process design
- Manage technology transfer projects including project timelines, project budget, and design history file
- Attend surgical cases, interact with surgeons, and review clinical journals to reinforce medical knowledge, support company sales staff, and obtain feedback on concepts or new devices
- Use computer-assisted engineering software to perform engineering tasks related to prototype design, test method development, and production aids
- Source, evaluate, and coordinate the procurement of new materials and parts from suppliers
- Source and install new equipment (IQ)
- Develop and execute design and process validation protocols/reports (OQ/PQ)
- Review test data utilizing statistical analysis and generate reports determining if designs meet functional and performance specification
- Lead or assist in project planning, which entails developing timelines, managing resources, and verifying task execution
- Analyze, evaluate, and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related Engineering degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 5 years of related work experience
- Strong with SolidWorks, Project Management Software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of statistical analysis and statistical software
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Travel up to 15% may be required
